Profulla Narayan Sanyal
Profulla Narayan Sanyal was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born in 1911 at Bilaskhan, Palong, Faridpur, now in Bangladesh. He was son of Karunakanta Sanyal. He belonged to Anusheelan Samity. British government arrested him on 29.10.1933, and after trial he was sentenced to prison term for life. On appeal, the sentence was commuted to 10 years prison term. Thereafter he was deported to the Andamans jail, where he participated in the second hunger strike. He was repatriated in January 1938. He took part in another hunger strike in Dum Dum Central jail in July 1939. He was detained under D.I.R. and released in 1945. His total jail period was 12 years.Nearby pages
