Pushyamitra Sunga (c 185 BC) was the Commander-in-Chief of the last Maurya king, Brithadratha. He killed his master and became the king of Magadha. He was an orthodox Hindu who started the revival of Brahmanical movement. He was the founder of Sunga dynasty.
