Queen Anne
Queen Anne (1665-1714) was daughter of James II (1633-1701). She was Queen of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 8 March 1702 until her death in 1714. By the union of Scotland with England during her reign in 1707, she became the first sovereign of the United Kingdom. Her reign distinguished by the part England played in the war of the Spanish succession and the number of notabilities, literary and scientific, that flourished under it, though without any patronage on the part of the Queen.Nearby pages
