R D Laing
R D Laing (1927-1989), full name Ronald David Laing, was a Scottish psychiatrist. He wrote extensively on mental illness – in particular, the experience of psychosis. Taking the expressed feelings of the individual patient as valid descriptions of personal experience rather than simply as symptoms of mental illness, Laing regarded schizophrenia as a theory not a fact. People believed him associated with the anti-psychiatry movement, but he denied it.Wisdom & Quotes
