Ramgarh

Ramgarh is a district in Jharkhand state of India. It was carved out from Hazaribag district and came into existence on September 12, 2007. Its headquarter is at Ramgarh, a cantonement town.

The district is spread over an area of 1,360.08 Sq. Km with population 9,49,443 as per census 2011.

There are six blocks and 364 villages in the district.

It may be mentioned that this was once a state, and a district before it was merged in Hazaribag district as a subdivision. Thus, the History of Ramgarh has witnessed both rise and fall of great magnitudes. Ramgarh Raj included once even Hazaribag.
