Richard Doddridge Blackmore
Richard Doddridge Blackmore (1825 — 1900), also known as R D Blackmore in short, was an English novelist and poet, born in Berks, bred to the bar, and had written several novels and poems. He is best known for his romantic novel "Lorna Doone" (1869), which, though coldly received at first, became highly popular later.
