ROBERT ADAM

ROBERT ADAM (1728-1792), born at Kirkcaldy, was a distinguished Scottish architect and furniture designer. He along with his brother James (1730-94) played a very important role in changing the prevailing Palladian fashion to a neoclassical style. He is best known as the architect of the Register House and the University, Edinburgh.
