ROBERT DEVEREUX

ROBERT DEVEREUX, EARL OF ESSEX (1591-1646), son of ROBERT DEVEREUX, (1567-1601); commander of the Parliamentary forces against Charles I.; the title died with him, but was conferred again upon the present family in 1661.
