Rochdale

Rochdale is a town in Greater Manchester, England. It was and cotton centre in the ceremonial county of Lancashire, prettily situated on the Roche, 11 miles North-East of Manchester. Its woollen and cotton trade (flannels and calicoes) dates back to Elizabeth's time in the later 16th century. It has an interesting 12th century parish church.
