ROHILKHAND

ROHILKHAND is a region in northwestern part of the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. The region took its name from the Rohillas, an Afghan tribe, who had possession of it in the 18th century.

The region is a flat, well-watered, fertile, and crossed by various railways.

It was formerly a northern division of the North-West Provinces during British India.
