Rupkund is in Uttarakhand state of India. It is situated East of Chamoli district headquarter about 9 kms away form Homkund. It is located at about a height of 5029 metres. The Rupkud lake is yet a mystery due to remains of human bones which are very old. Nobody knowns much about this place, except that people used to live here from very ancient period of human existence.
