Sam Slick

Sam Slick is a clockmaker and pedlar, a character illustrating Yankee peculiarities, and remarkable for his wit, his knowledge of human nature, and his use of "soft sawder," a creation of Judge Haliburton's (1796 – 1865) in his fiction of the same name serialized from 1835 to 1840.
