Samarendra Ghosh

Samarendra Ghosh was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born on 31.01.1915 at Bankhuri, Manikgunj, Dacca, now in Bangladesh. Narendra Ghosh Talukdar was his father. When 14 years of age, he joined revolutionary party. He matriculated and and was arrested in May 1933 in connection with Manickgunj Mail Action Case and convicted to 7 years R.I. He was deported to Cellular jail in Andamans to serve the sentence. There he participated in second hunger strike. H was repatriated in 1938 and released in 1939. He remained interned under Government order for 38 months in 1940. Thereafter, he went underground during the war years. His total jail period more than 7 years.
