Sammy Baugh

Sammy Baugh (1914-2008), full name Samuel Adrian Baugh, popularly known as Slingin' Sammy, was a US football player. He entered the Football Hall of Fame in 1963. During 1937-52, he played for the Washington Redskins. He became the only player to lead the National Football League in 1943 in passing, punting, and interceptions in the same season. His trademark pinpoint passing revolutionized professional football by making the forward pass a routine play from scrimmage.
