Sandra Day O'Connor

Sandra Day O'Connor (b 1930) is a US retired attorney and politician. She was a jurist, first female US Supreme Court justice appointed in 1981. She was the first female associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1981 to 2006. She was both the first woman nominated and the first confirmed to the court.
