!SATURN Saturn is the sixth planet of our solar system. It has a diameter of 119,296 kms (74,560 miles). It has over 20 satellites. It orbits the sun in 29.5 years. Its average distance from the sun is 1,417.6 million kms (886 million miles). It has rings composed of thousands of thousands of rippling, spiralling bands just 100 feet thick. One of its satellites, Titan, has an atmosphere of nitrogen and hydrocarbons. However, we are yet to find any sign of life. The planet is revolving on its own axis in about 10½ hours; its diameter is nine times greater than that of the earth; it is surrounded by bright rings that appear as three; the rings are solid, and are supposed to consist of a continuous belt of moons.
