Scotch pine

Scotch pine is a variety of pine tree. This Eurasian pine tree is widely cultivated for its timber, especially in the northeastern US and the Great Lakes region — Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania of the United States — and two Canadian provinces — Ontario and Quebec. It is a medium-sized and long-lived tree. Pinus Sylvestris is its botanical name, and it belongs to the Pinaceae family.
