Scoter

Scoter is a bird, a diving duck of the northern region. It is also called Sea Coot because it lives in the sea water except during the breeding season. It winters off the coast for somewhere to breed. The drakes (the males) has mainly black plumage and have swollen bills. Ducks (females) and brown. It belongs to the genus Melanitta, and the family Anatidae. Three species of this bird are found.
