A Season is a period of time in the year with the same environmental trend.

For example - there are six seasons (ritus) in India.

The months of Chaira and Baishakh (corresponding roughly to March and April) constitute vernal season; Jyestha and Ashadh (corresponding roughly to May and June (constitute the hot weather; Shravan and Bhadrapad (corresponding roughly to July and August) constitute the rainy season and Ashvin and Kartik (corresponding roughly to September and October) constitute the autumnal season; Margashirsh and Paush (corresponding roughly to November and December) constitute the cold season; and Magh and Phalgun (corresponding roughly to January and February) constitute the chilly season.

Some variation are possible on yearly basis depending on the months as per Indian calendar.
