Shaktipeeth Ma Chanchala Devi is in Koderma district of Jharkhand in India. It is situated in the Koderma-Giridih highway around 33 kms from the district headquarters. Maa chanchala devi temple is built at about 400 feet high at the top of the hill. It is worth mentioning that Chanchala is one of the epithets of the goddess Durga. Nearby hill there is a big cave having rock paintings of four forms of goddess Durga. Entering into the cave is difficult as the passage is very narrow. A large number of devotees reach here on Tuesday and Saturday. People generally offer Arwa rice and mishri to the goddes and use of sindur is prohibited. Devotees are supposed to go after taking bath. It is believed that violation of this rituals leads to punishment of insects' bite.
