Sheopur is a district in the State of Madhya Pradesh in India.

Total area of the district is 6,66,081 Sq km.

The district is divided into divided into 2 ub-Divisions, 3 Tehsils, 3 Blocks and 4 Nagar Palikas/Nagar Panchayats.

Population of the district as per census 2001 was 5,59,715.

History

History of the district dates back from ancient times. There was a city known as `Dom`, which was the capital of Kachhwaha Kingdom.

In Doob Kund area, there are the remains of Har Gauri Temple which was said to be built in 11th century.
