SIR HERBERT BENJAMIN EDWARDES (1819-1868), soldier and administrator in India, born at Frodesley, Shropshire; was actively engaged in the first Sikh War and in the Mutiny; served under Sir Henry Lawrence, whose Life he partly wrote.
