Sir Isambard Brunel
Sir Isambard Brunel (1769-1849), full name Marc Isambard Brunel, was a French-British engineer, born in Rouen, entered the French navy, emigrated to the United States. He was chief engineer of New York. He settled in England, became block-maker to the Royal Navy. He constructed the Thames tunnel, begun in 1825 and finished in 1843.Nearby pages
