Sir James Matthew Barrie
Sir James Matthew Barrie (1860-1937) was a Scottish writer, dramatist, and novelist with a rich vein of humour and pathos. He was born at Kirriemuir ("Thrums"), in Forfarshire; began his literary career as a contributor to journals; produced, among other works, "Auld Licht Idylls" in 1888, and "A Window in Thrums," in 1889, and his "Margaret Ogilvie," deemed by some most enduring thing he has written. His "Peter Pan" (1904) is a fantasy for children. It is all about a boy who would not grow up. "The Admirable Crichton" (1902) is among his notable plays.Wisdom & Quotes
