Sir John Watson Gordon
Sir John Watson Gordon (1788-1864) was a Scottish portrait-painter, born in Edinburgh. He was a pupil of Raeburn's, and his successor as a painter of portraits. He executed portraits of most of the eminent Scotchmen of his time, and among the number Sir Walter Scott, the Duke of Buccleuch, Lord Cockburn, Dr. Chalmers, and Professor Wilson.Nearby pages
