Sir Joseph Banks

Sir Joseph Banks (1743-1820) was an English botanist, a zealous naturalist in his subject, and president of the Royal Society for 41 years. He accompanied Captain James Cook on his firs voyage to the Pacific. He was a noted collector, in lands far and wide, of specimens in natural history.
