Sir R S Ball

Sir R S Ball (1840-1913), full name Robert Stawell Ball, was an Irish mathematician and astronomer, born in Dublin. He was Astronomer-Royal for Ireland. Noted as author of works on astronomy and mechanics, but he was best known of a popular kind on the former science being "The Story of the Heavens".
