!Sita Kund
Sita Kund is in Munger district of Bihar in India. It is famous for a hot water spring. The village in which this tank is situated derives its name from this Kund. This village is situated at about 6 km east of the Munger town.
This hot water spring derives its name from Sita, the wife of Lord Ram. It is said that after rescuing his wife Sita from the demon king Ravan, Lord Ram to remove any suspicions that she could not have maintained her honour intact, asked Sita to prove her chastity. Then Sita, to prove her chastity, agreed to enter a blazing fire. She came out of the fiery ordeal unscathed, and imparted to the pool in which she bathed, the heat she had absorbed from the fire. The hot spring is now enclosed in a masonry reservoir and is visited by large number of pilgrims, specially at the full moon of Magh.
