ST ALBERTUS MAGNUS

ST ALBERTUS MAGNUS (1190-1280), also known as Doctor Universalis, was one of the greatest of the scholastic philosophers and theologians of the Middle Ages. This Dominican theologian was also a scientist.

He was the teacher of St Thomas Aquinas, supreme in knowledge of the arts and sciences of the time, a pioneer in the study of Aristotle, and regarded by his contemporaries in consequence as a sorcerer.
