St Bernadette
St Bernadette (1844 — 79), born Marie Bernarde Soubirous, was a French peasant girl who attained sainthood. She was beatified in 1925, and canonized in 1933 by Pope. Her vision of Virgin Mary at Lourdes in 1858 led the town to become a centre of pilgrimage. In France, Feast day is observed on February 18, elsewhere on April 16.
