Stephen Fuller Austin
Stephen Fuller Austin (1793-1836) was colonizer of Texas, which is now a state in the United States. His colonization of Texas was in continuation of the effort that his father Moses Austin (1761-1821) had begun, who was the first man allowed to bring Anglo-American settlers into Spanish Texas. Stephen F Austin founded the first recognized Anglo-American settlement in Texas in 1823. He also briefly held the post of the Secretary of State of the Republic of Texas in 1836.
