Surendra Mohan Kar Ray was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. Born December 1902, Madaripur, faridpur, Bangladesh, s/o Late Basanta Kumar Kar Roy. At the age of 18, joined Santi Sena a revolutionary group of Madaripur. Detained under B.C.L.A. in 1925-27. Took part in several actions such as Palong, Naria etc. Police could not trace him. Lastly arrested in connection with Charmuguria Post Office Action on 2nd March 1931. Sentenced to transportation for life. Deported to Andamans. Joined both the hunger strikes in Cellular jail. Released in 1946. Total jail period 18 years. Breathed his last in may 1980.
