Tallapaka

Tallapaka is a village in the YSR District of Andhra Pradesh in India. It is located at about 48 kilometres from the city of Kadapa.

The village is known for its being the birthplace of the noted carnatic music composer, Annamacharya, who lived during the 15th century. Born in 1424, Annamacharya is said to have composed more than thirty two thousand devotional hymns - Sankeerthanas, on Venkateswara of Tirumala. His wife TIMMAKKA is the first poetess in Telugu literature. She composed 'Subhadrakalyanam'. The sons and grand children of Annamacharya were all born poets who continued their writings in the footsteps of Annamacharya.

However, the main attraction here is the beautiful temple of Sudarashanachakra, which is abode to the idols of Lord Vishnu and Saint Gopalkrishna.
