Tamil Nadu Vidhan Sabha Election 2026

Tamil Nadu Vidhan Sabha Election 2026 was announced by the Election Commission of India on March 15, 2026. Term of the Tamil Nadu Vidhan Sabha will expire on 10.05.2026. Elections will be held on all 234 seats out of which 44 are reserved for Scheduled Caste (ST) and 2 are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST). Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral roll was done with reference to 01.01.2026 as the qualifying date. Final electoral roll was published on 17.02.2026. Total number of electors were 5,67,74,436 out of which 5,67,07,380 were general and 67,056 service voters. Number of young electors of 18-19 years of age were 12,51,749. Number of PwD electors were 4,63,398, Third Gender 7,617 and Senior Citizens of above 85 years of age were 3,99,668. Number of polling stations were increased to 75,032 as against 68,321 during the Lok Sabha Election 2024.
