Mutiny of 1857 in India is popularly known as the first war of Indian independence. It was the first expression of Indians for freedom and liberty from British rule. Hindus, Muslims, Princes, people and soldiers all joined hands to fight the foreign rule. It altimately failed. However, it provided inspiration for future struggle for freedom.
