Thomas Ady

Thomas Ady (1630s - 1670s) was an English physician and humanist. He was also the author of sceptical books on witchcraft and witch-hunting. 'A Candle in the Dark' (c.1655) was his best known work which is a treatise on the Nature of Witches & Witchcraft. His other two notable works were 'A Perfect Discovery of Witches' (1661) and 'The Doctrine of Devils' (1676).
