Thomas Dalziel
Thomas Dalziel (1599-1685) was a Scottish general, born in Linlithgowshire. Being hand-idle at home, he entered the Russian service against the Turks. After returning at the request of Charles II, he was appointed commander-in-chief in Scotland. He suppressed a rising of the Covenanters at Pentland in 1666.
