Timothy D Sullivan

Timothy D Sullivan (1862-1913), also known as Big Tim, Big Tim Sullivan, full name Timothy (Big Tim) Daniel Sullivan, was a New York Tammany Hall politician. He was known euphemistically as "Dry Dollar", as the "Big Feller", and later as "Big Tim" because of his physical stature. In 1911, he pushed through the legislature the Sullivan Act, an early gun control measure. He was also a strong supporter of organized labor and women's suffrage.
