TINNEVELLI
TINNEVELLI, now called Tirunelveli, is a town in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. It headquarters a district of the same name. It lies 50 m. north of Cape Comorin, and adjoins Pallamcotta. It has been a centre of Protestant mission work, and possesses a Sind temple and a Hindu college.During British Raj, it was a part of Madras Presidency and was the capital of a district of the same name. It head-quartered the British military and government.
