TOBAGO

TOBAGO, one of the WINDWARD ISLANDS, the most southerly of the group. It is politically attached to Trinidad, and both form the name of the country Trinidad and Tobago. It is a hilly, picturesque, and volcanic island. It exports rum, molasses, and live-stock.

It became a British in possession 1763 and remained so until 1962, when Trinidad and Tobago became independent.
