Tokugawa Ieyasu

Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543-1616) was a Japanese military and political leader who founded Tokugawa shogunate, which lasted until 1867. He was one of the three unifiers of Japan. He made a fishing village of Edo his headquarter which later grew to a big city which is now called Tokyo. Ieyasu established military government and enforced four social classes - samurai, farmer, artisan and merchant.
