Transformer

Transformer is a term in electricity and physics. It is a name given to a simple device that transforms electricity form one voltage to another. The power coming out of the transformer cannot exceed that going in, so the output current is reduced in direct proportion to the gain in voltage.

It is also a device which converts the generator's (turbine's) low-voltage electricity to higher-voltage levels for transmission to the load center, such as a city or factory.
