Abdul Rahman

Tunku Putra Abdul Rahman, simply known as Tunku (1903-90) was a Malaysian politician who eventually became prime minister of Malaya in 1957. This statesman remained prime minister of Malaya till 1963, when the name of the country was changed and it became Malaysia. Then he became the prime minister of Malaysia too in 1963 and remained prime minister till 1970.

He is known for his able leadership and ability to reduce tension between Malaysia's Chinese and Malay ethnic groups.
