Uma Shankar Kongar was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. Born 1915, Bahari, Bolpur, Birbhum, s/o Late Aditya Prasanna Kongar. Was an Intermediaet student oh Sreerampur College at the time of arrest. Arrested in connection with Birbhum Conspiracy Case in late 1933. Sent up for trial and was sentenced to five years imprisonment. Deported to the Andamans in the fall of 1935. Participated in the second hunger strike . Repatriated in 1937. Released in 1938. During world war second was under internment.
