URGELLING GOMPA

URGELLING GOMPA, or Urgelling Monastery, is in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh in India. It is located at about 5 km from the heart of Tawang town. It was established by Lama Urgen Sangpo. Dating more thatn 460 years ago.

The monastery is the birthpalace of his holiness the 6th Dalai lama. The birth place of Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso (1683-1706).
