Valmiki Nagar

Valmiki Nagar is in West Champaran district of Bihar in India. This village is located on the Indo-Nepal border at about 42 km northwest of Bagaha to which it is connected by a metalled road. The place derives its name from sage Valmiki, who is said to have lived here. Valmiki Ashram is there at that place.

There is also a barrage here on the Gandak river which has been constructed for irrigation purposes.

There is also an old Shiva temple constructed by the Bettiah Raj. Some other ancient temples include Nara Devi Temple and Gauri Shankar temple.
