Ved
Vid in Sanskrit means 'to know'. That is why the four sacred books or scriptures of Hinduism are collectively known as Ved or
Vedas. These are
Rigved,
Samved,
Yajurved, and
Atharvaved. There are six divisions of Ved -
Shiksha,
Kalp,
Vyakaran,
Nirukt,
Jyotish, and
Chand the division of Vedas which are called Ang.
