Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India.
Arrested in England on the excuse that the pistol sent by him was used in the Nasik conspiracy case in which his brother Ganesh had already been sent to the Andamans, he was arrested. While being transported on board a ship to India, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar jumped from the ship to escape at Marseilles Port, France. Frnch police captured him and handed him over to British on 13.03.1910. Deported to Andamans.
