Viscount Hill

Viscount Hill (1772-1842) was a British general, born in Shropshire. He entered the army at fifteen, served under Sir John Moore, and under the Duke of Wellington in the Peninsula and at Waterloo, where he commanded a division. He succeeded Wellington in 1828 as commander-in-chief.
