Wesley Branch Rickey

Wesley Branch Rickey (1881 - 1965) was a US baseball player and sports executive who was posthumously elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1967. He was instrumental in breaking Major League Baseball's color barrier by signing black player Jackie Robinson, introducing the batting helmet, and creating the framework for the modern minor league farm system.
